Background:
Opened in 1989, the school is set in an area which consists mainly of private homes and a 1950s estate. The school building has two storeys, with eight classrooms, a library area, 'large' hall and separate dining area. Outside there are two 'generous' hard play surfaces and a 'large' playing field. The site is shared with the partner infant school. Community links involve four local organisations currently hiring the school facilities in the evenings and an active School Association. 'A number' of extra-curricular activity clubs are in operation including choir, recorder, football, drama, new image rugby, short tennis, cricket, and summer sports. 'Periodically' educational visits are organised by various teachers in connection with ongoing classwork.
